    Moodle Content Exporter

    A Multi-Format Moodle Writer

    Amplifyd from www.linuxbox.com
The Content Exporter is a general framework for writing Moodle course content to a variety of formats. Unlike the general (and wonderfully thorough) Moodle backup component, the Content Exporter focuses on creating human readable exports which are convenient for distribution.
    Currently the Content Exporter supports:
    • PDF
    • Plain Text
    • HTML

    Installation

Simply extract the Moodle Content Exporter into the root directory of your Moodle installation. It will put everything into a subdirectory called contentexport. Then navigate to http://yourmoodle/contentexport and select a course and format from the menu. You must be logged in as an administrator. Output files are stored in the backup directory for the root course. To access
them, click on restore from your Moodle’s front page.

    CSS for Moodle

    No Commentary

    Amplifyd from docs.moodle.org

    What is CSS?

  • CSS stands for “Cascading Style Sheets” and is a web technology for defining the layout and look of a web page. With CSS you can alter the design of your web page without modifying HTML or PHP code.
  • Moodle Docs on CSS

  • Books:

  • The books by CSS guru Eric Meyer are highly recommended:
  • Where do I find information about the CSS used by Moodle?
  • CSS - overview of the use of CSS by Moodle.
  • CSS styles_ layout.css contains the layout specifications for various page elements.
  • CSS styles_color.css contains the colors used in the page elements.
  • CSS styles_fonts.css defines the fonts used in the page elements.
  • Which tools are useful for working with CSS?

  • Firebug Extension for Firefox is the single most useful tool for inspecting the CSS of any web page and modifying it on the fly. See Development:Firebug for further information.
  • Web Developer Toolbar for Firefox. See also Category:Firefox extensions.
  • Standalone CSS editor TopStyle Lite (you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the free Lite version).
  • The new PHP version of NetBeans comes with integrated CSS support. You find a host of documentation, turorials, screen casts, etc. on the web site. See also Development:Setting up Netbeans.

    Moodle Course Conversion

Although there is plenty of videos and how-tos on the net, this book is promising for the people who will create the content/courses, so basicly it is for teachers.

    Amplifyd from www.liquidelearning.com
Packt books have published Moodle Course Conversion: Beginner’s Guide by Ian Wild. This book promises to help teachers and trainers get “existing teaching material online quickly and easily”.
From Chapter 2, you’re creating your courses. You learn about course structure and format, enrolling students and assigning teaching roles.
Chapter 3 focuses on adding documents and handouts, while chapter 4 deals with including multimedia content.
The book is NOT aimed at techies who are setting Moodle up from scratch. It’s for teachers, trainers and lecturers who want to (or are being forced to) convert existing materials for Moodle.
